Achille Marozzo's
Opera Nova

One of the first to focus on use of the thrust over the cut, considered by many an "early rapier" manual despite his use of a clearly cutting and thrusting blade. This is the 1615 edition of Marozzo's manual first published in 1568. It was believed to have been edited and republished by his son Sebastiano.  Marozzo inlcuded a range of weapons and technqiues as well as lessons.  Click on any of the smaller images below for various illustrations in his treatise.
